Coming off the release of her EP it’s fine, i’m fine, Valeree is back. She surprised fans with her socially distant single “6 Feet Apart.” This song perfectly echoes everything we’ve been feeling and going through in the past year — we’re tired of being six feet apart too.
This sweet, slow, melodic song is the perfect song to chill and relax to. The music complements Valeree’s dreamy vocals as she has us feeling nostalgic for that life before quarantine. The vibe of this song draws similarities and inspirations from Daniel Caesar’s “Japanese Denim” and rightfully so.
She teased her single several times on TikTok, previewing snippets and even dropping the release date of it.
Valeree has been on a recent hot streak, building off the momentum of her EP. The five-track project released back in March attracted the attention of thousands of listeners. Her song “Deity” along gained an impressive 114.7K streams on Spotify.
The EP also includes her song “Broke,” another song of hers that became a fan favorite. The song went viral on TikTok in February, receiving over 142.7K views. She’s also enjoyed a viral following on the platform recently and it’s still going strong.
The retro-pop-R&B artist draws inspiration from artists such as Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys and her biggest idol, Etta James. You can definitely hear the influences both in her voice and her songwriting. Learn more about her in our feature interview here.
She is continuing to see success on her music lately and it’s only going to get better. Be sure to stream “6 Feet Apart” and her it’s fine, i’m fine on all streaming platforms.
